Ph.D in political science and social psychology. Has been an independent scholar and writer for over 35 years. He is author or editor of 16 books, of which the most recent is All Connected Now: Life in the First Global Civilization (Westview Press, 2001). He is currently president of the World Academy of Art and Science, and director of the Program on Bioscience and Society at the University of California, Irvine.
