Remembering Basil Hiley

Issue 22 of Pari Perspectives is dedicated to the memory of the Pari Center’s long-time friend, the physicist and mathematician Basil Hiley who died earlier this year. Many of you will know him from Pari Center webinars and the in-person events in Pari where he entertained us his boyish delight in matters that many of us could barely comprehend.

This issue contains tributes from friends, colleagues, the Peat family, and reminiscences from Basil’s daughter Sally-Anne Kennedy-Lamb. It features a long interview with Jonathan Allday and Todd Bureau—perhaps the final one that Basil gave—and an essay by Basil himself, ‘Thirty Years with David Bohm.’  

Basil, we will miss you: your enthusiasm, your humour, your brilliance—and your dancing in the piazza in Pari.  RIP
