Agape: The Great Connector?

Julie Mossbridge

The relationship between the material and non-material world has been explored for centuries, from Plato’s allegory of the cave to Chalmer’s “hard problem” of consciousness. In this exploratory talk, mystic and cognitive neuroscientist Julia Mossbridge will explore in what ways it makes sense to think of Agape — universal and unconditional love — as a natural substance or force that joins apparent opposites such as space and time, past and future, light and dark, and even mind and body. Mossbridge will draw from her own insights, the insights of mystics from the past and our potential future, and when appropriate will integrate these insights with scientific theory and empirical results.

Dr. Mossbridge is an affiliate professor in the Dept. of Biophysics and Physics at University of San Diego, a fellow at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, principal consultant for the Blue Sky Task Force at California Institute for Integral Studies, the co-founder of TILT: The Institute for Love and Time, the founder of Mossbridge Institute and an author and co-author of multiple books and scientific articles related to time travel, artificial intelligence and unconditional love. Her PhD is in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Northwestern University), her MA is in Neuroscience (UC San Francisco), and she was awarded her BA in Neuroscience with highest honors (Oberlin College).
